About Second Nature UK
Based near Penrith in Cumbria, Second Nature UK began in 2001 with the launch of Thermafleece. The first sheepswool insulation to be manufactured in the UK using wool from British hill sheep. In 2002 Thermafleece gained British Board of Agrément (BBA) approval for use in loft, sarking and timber frame wall applications. To celebrate this fundamental step for Thermafleece, the company hosted a reception at The House of Commons, with Guest Speaker, the Writer and Broadcaster, Chris Baines.

The product we currently offer and those that we are researching have a specific focus to offer the consumer a greener alternative. Second Nature UK's own products, Thermafleece and the soon to be launched, Bubbleboard are all based on natural resources and aim to offer our customers an environmental option to conventional materials in the market place.
In 2004 Second Nature UK were awarded The Queen's Award for Enterprise -Sustainable Development. This was a tremendous accolade and a very proud moment when members of the Second Nature UK team received the Award personally from Her Majesty The Queen.
