For over 225 years, Knockando Woolmill has been at the heart of this Speyside community. Its original machinery has allowed generations of families to spin, weave and farm in time honoured tradition. Knockando is one of the very few district mills to have survived and indeed to continuously manufacture since 1784.

Envirolink - Exhibition of Sustainable Construction Materials

Envirolink are holding a week long exhibition which will be showcasing sustainable building products the week of 24th – 28th May and included within this will be a section on recycled products. Our two products, EdenBloc35 and Thermafleece PB20, made from recycled materials have been chosen to be exhibited. The exhibition will be held at the Cube Gallery in Manchester www.cube.org.uk which is dedicated to showcasing exhibitions for the construction sector. ![]()

Cumbria Green Build Conference

The conference will inspire and inform all building professionals about the opportunities for green construction as we strive to meet the Government’s Zero Carbon targets.
A variety of experts will be able to answer specific technical issues regarding Low Carbon Construction including environmental modelling, renewables, air tightness, modern methods of construction, refurbishment and materials.
The speakers, from a diverse range of backgrounds, are all practically involved in this field and will be drawing on their own expertise and conveying their experience based on a range of case studies. Mark Lynn from Second Nature UK will be presenting a seminar on the "Assessment of Sustainable Materials".
There will also be an exhibition of local businesses who service the needs of Low Carbon Building.

Cumbrian Heritage Skills Initiative Launch Event

Green Innovation - RHS Garden Harlow Carr

Sustainable Energy Fair 2008

Location: Scottish Agricultural College, Auchincruive
The Sustainable Energy Fair will be held on Saturday 27th September 2008 from 10am - 4pm at Scottish Agricultural College, Auchincruive.
As well as renewables and energy efficiency, the event will include waste management, transport and sustainable house design. There will be a large number of information stands, demonstrations, a variety of presentations throughout the day, on-site catering and free parking.
If you have a specific domestic energy question, book in on the day and speak to someone at one of the "Ask An Advisor" sessions.
A biofuel shuttle bus, provided by Stagecoach, will also be available to transport people to and from Ayr town centre free of charge.
